Is Dodge Bringing Back the Hornet?
When you think of Dodge as a brand the first thing to pop into your mind is most likely the iconic muscle cars. However, for a brief moment in the 1980’s Dodge tried to make its way into the world of SUVs. Although it wasn’t very successful back then, Dodge has recently announced that it’s bringing back a redesigned version of the Dodge Hornet SUV for the 2023 model year.
Learn what to expect in the upcoming 2023 Dodge Hornet with Walt Massey Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM Lucedale.
What is the Dodge Hornet?
In 2006 Dodge released the first Mini-Cooper-like version of the Hornet, however the 2023 Hornet is nothing like the 2006 model. The new Hornet is a compact SUV and has what Dodge calls a “Multi-Energy” powertrain lineup. The GT model is equipped with standard AWD, an electronic limited-slip differential, and a Koni suspension system. It also features plenty of safety and infotainment features that auto shoppers are looking for.
The R/T PHEV powertrain option features a 1.3-liter turbocharged 4-cylinder engine mated to an electric motor. The plug-in version of the Hornet will attract auto shoppers interested in fuel efficiency with its estimated 30 plus miles of all-electric range.
The all new 2023 Hornet is Dodge’s entry into the world of hybrid and electric vehicles. Perfect for auto shoppers who enjoy the performance of a Dodge vehicle but want to have more fuel efficiency.
